IDFVA is a representative body that gives those within the deer farming community the opportunity to have a voice in the future development of the deer & venison industry.

Also matters relating to grant aid, REPS, herd expansion, Quality Assurance, stock disposal, transport as well as disease control. Our aim is to represent all farmers, breed organisations and any other service provider involved in the Irish deer industry.

The more deer farmers it represents, the more effective the association becomes.


The purpose of our association is to:

•To promote the interests of farmers involved in deer farming through the direct contact with government & semi-state bodies

•Give information about venison including its health benefits

•Act as a members forum for the transfer of information

•Provide members with opportunities to trade

•To liase with the Federation of European Deer Farmers Association (FEDFA)
